We are Beccehamian Women's Rugby Team, part of Beccehamian Rugby Football Club based at Sparrow's Den, West Wickham, North Kent, England. The ladies team has been running for thirteen year now, being formed in 1999 and is fully affiliated and insured with the Womens Rugby Football Union (RFUW). We are playing in National Challenge Division 2 South East for the 2011-2012 season.

Beccehamian Rugby Football Club was formed in 1933 by former pupils of Beckenham County School for Boys and was originally called Old Beccehamian Rugby Football Club. The club originally played at the school in Langley Park and still maintains close ties with Langley Park Boys School.

The club is based at Sparrow's Den, West Wickham where the current clubhouse was opened in 1972, build through a joint proposal from the club and the London Borough of Bromley.

Beccehamian Ladies Rugby Team was formed in 1999 by rugby enthusiast Yvonne Baxter. The team has flourished and grown becoming fully affiliated and insured with the RFU-W and membership increasing considerably.

The team played their first competitive season within the RFU-W structure during the 2002-2003 season and had a successful year becoming Division 5 SE-E Merit League Champions. The ladies also took part in the National Cup for the first time with a first round win over Division 3 SE Sidcup before being knocked out in the 2nd round by Division 2 (SE) Camberley.

In 2003-2004 the ladies were promoted two leagues to Division 3 SE-E where they had an enjoyable and successful season finishing second. For the last couple of years the ladies have been playing in Division 2 SE-E and SE-W. The team underwent major changes in 2007-2008 with the loss of a number of senior players but they managed to recruit a large number of new players and re-build the team. The team played Division 3 SE-E for a couple of years before being promoted to Division 2 South East in the 2010-11 season. They will be playing in Division 2 SE again in 2011-2012.

The team train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30pm-9pm, with matches on Sunday afternoons usually around 2.30pm.

The club caters for girls of age 17+ at all levels of fitness and experience. We are always on the look-out for new players with recruitment being high on our list of priorities. We promise a friendly reception to all new players whatever their skills level - complete beginners are particularly welcomed and encouraged.

If you are unsure that rugby is for you then come along and watch our next match or training session. Full training will be given!
